NMAT result 2026

The NMAT by GMAC 2026 result helps candidates evaluate their performance in the management entrance examination and plan their applications to participating business schools. Unlike examinations that announce results on one common date, NMAT provides scores to candidates individually after they complete their examination.

Candidates can view an unofficial scorecard on screen after successfully submitting the test. GMAC states that the scorecard containing overall and sectional scaled scores is generally available for download within 48 hours of the examination, subject to applicable security checks and audits.

The official NMAT scorecard should be used when reviewing performance and completing the score-related requirements of eligible business schools.

When Will the NMAT 2026 Result Be Released?

Candidates can see an unofficial scorecard on screen after successfully completing the examination. The downloadable scorecard containing overall and sectional scaled scores is generally available within 48 hours.

NMAT 2026 Score Range

NMAT uses a scaled scoring system designed for its computer-adaptive examination format.

Section

Scaled Score Range

Language Skills

12–120

Quantitative Skills

12–120

Logical Reasoning

12–120

Overall Score

36–360

The overall score is calculated using performance across the three sections, which are equally weighted in determining the total score.

Scaled scores are not the same as the percentage of questions answered correctly. Candidates should interpret their results using GMAC's official scoring guidance rather than treating the total as a percentage or assuming that it directly represents a percentile rank.

What Is an NMAT Scaled Score?

NMAT uses computer-adaptive testing, meaning that the examination selects questions according to the candidate's performance on previously answered questions.

GMAC estimates a candidate's ability using its scoring methodology and converts the resulting estimate into a scaled score. This allows results to be reported on the examination's defined scoring scale.

Candidates should avoid comparing raw numbers of correct responses across different test attempts as if the questions and difficulty were identical. The official scaled score is the appropriate score to review when considering admissions.

NMAT Score Validity

GMAC states that NMAT scores are valid for one year. Candidates should nevertheless check the admission cycle and score-acceptance policies of their chosen business schools.

An institution may have specific deadlines and selection criteria even when a candidate has a valid NMAT score. A valid score does not automatically establish eligibility for every programme or guarantee admission.

Candidates should also verify the score-reporting arrangements for their preferred business schools, including whether a separate college application is required.

What Happens After the NMAT Result?

After receiving the scorecard, candidates should identify business schools that accept NMAT scores for their preferred programmes. They should compare the relevant eligibility requirements, application deadlines and selection procedures before submitting their applications.

The next steps may include applying to a business school, submitting educational documents, completing a separate application fee payment and participating in interviews or other selection stages.

Candidates who plan to take another NMAT attempt should check the official retake rules, fee and scheduling requirements. GMAC permits up to three attempts in a testing cycle, including the first attempt and up to two retakes, subject to its official rules.

How to Use Your NMAT Score for MBA Admissions

Candidates should evaluate their score in the context of each institution's admission process rather than relying on a single universal cut-off.

When shortlisting business schools, consider:

  • Whether the institution accepts NMAT for the specific programme.

  • Programme eligibility and any minimum academic requirements.

  • Published cut-offs or shortlisting criteria, where available.

  • Tuition fees, specialisations, campus location and career objectives.

  • Separate application deadlines and further selection stages.

Previous-year cut-offs can provide historical context, but they should not be treated as guaranteed admission thresholds for a future intake.

What to Do If Your NMAT Scorecard Is Delayed

If the scorecard is not available within 48 hours, log in to the candidate dashboard and check your registered email for any security-related notification.

For an examination under review, follow the instructions given by GMAC. If no relevant email has been received and the scorecard remains unavailable, contact NMAT support at nmatsupport@gmac.com.

Candidates should retain their application information and examination details when requesting assistance.
